THE CROOKE SISTER'S JUMPING JOURNEY

Posted on Jul 07 2020 01:03 AM

Speed Capital Spotlight Athletes Kenzie and Kya Crooke started their track careers in 2016.  At the time, Kenzie had just turned 7 years old and Kya was 9.  They both started as sprinters and also competed in long jump.  They absolutely loved the thrill of competition and after their first season they were hooked.

Kya and Kenzie are from Fishers, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis; and are members of the Soca Speed Track Club.  These sisters have found their passion in long jump, high jump, triple jump and multi-events.  They have been racking up the accolades on the State, Regional and National level, both earning multiple All American honors.

The Crooke sisters love track and field!  They train together, support one another and push each other to be the best they can be.  A little sisterly competition never hurts.  Kya and Kenzie both strive to improve and PR each track and field season.  Having both been silver medalist at the 2019 Junior Olympics, their next goal is to win a National title.

In the future Kenzie would like to be a Middle and High School record holder, and attend a D1 college for track.  Kya currently holds several Middle School records, and aspires to long jump 20 feet and high jump 6 feet in High School.  She is looking forward to breaking the High School high jump record, which her mother currently holds.

Both girls have aspirations to be Olympic athletes and have been putting in the hard work, to this end.  Their future looks very bright!
